There are papers that we are particularly keen on… This is one of them. It was a dissertation project for the first author, Kirstie Hanning, a few years back. The study came out of a real-life problem: why do women who have sought for genetic counselling not return their family history forms? We did a mixed methods study to find out the answers. It turns out that many factors from high breast cancer worries/risk perception to feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of how to find sensitive family data are the centre of this. Here’s the pubmed link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24402774
